CHARLOTTE, N.C– Early Wednesday afternoon in late September, Muggsy Bogues Always Believe Celebrity Classic welcomed friends and family to participate in the annual non-profit Golf Tournament at The Palisades Country Club.
The welcoming event opened arms to the community and offered great opportunities to meet and play with Muggsy and his celebrity friends. Professional athletes Roman Harper, Kenny Moore, Jonathan Stewart, Dell Curry, Antwan Jameson, Gerald Henderson, Charles Oakley, Kenny Gattison, Vernon Maxwell, and Alonzo Mourning were present at the event and took part in the awards dinner and tournament.
Personal boxed lunches and beverages were provided to tame hunger and quench thirst on a cool evening. With the support of donations, The Golf Tournament helped fulfill the wishes and mission of Always Believe Inc to provide scholarships for two local students pursuing vocational or trade endeavors.
Always Believe Inc. primarily focuses on mentoring at risk youth ages 12 through 18 in the involvement of programs focusing on student athletics, scholarships, leadership development, character, and team building. The main goal is the enhancement of youth, reaching their full potential as well rounded students and productive adult citizens.
As a result, the golf tournament fundraised over 15,000 dollars in funding for scholarships. The Rice Team finished off the Golf Tournament by leading with the victory win. Bogues Consulting Group loved being a sponsor, partner and event planner for this annual golfing outing. Overall, the fun charitable event was a great success and is bound to create other cherish-able moments for next years golf tournament that will inspire, create memories, change lives, and empower others to “Always Believe.” Next year be on the lookout for new faces, new hole sponsors and possibly a new course!
