The Pandemic
Ah, remote life. Organizationally, Bogues Group adjusted from focusing solely on in-person events to enhancing our overall marketing and communications plans as we launched into 2021. Internally, we added trivia nights, employee recognition highlights, and other programs to maintain cohesion and togetherness during this time. And we’re all very familiar with each other’s pets these days.
In the News
We were proudly featured in BALLANTYNE magazine, Addison Suite Magazine, PRIDE Magazine, The Charlotte Ledger, and AAA. Many thanks to the local and national publications who worked with us – we appreciate the support and look forward to working together in the future.
Giving Back
Working with the Muggsy Bogues Family Foundation (MBFF), we hosted three impactful events to give back to the community.
Voters & Floaters
Voters & Floaters – powered by the Charlotte Hornets – was held on June 29 and included appearances from NBA Legends and current players, including 1986 Slam Dunk Champion Spud Webb, 6x NBA All-Star and NBA Champion Kyle Lowry, 2x NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas, NBA Sixth Man of the Year Dell Curry and NBA Legend Muggsy Bogues. CNN Analyst Bakari Sellers moderated the discussion about the importance of voter registration, voting, and never before told stories about each player’s time in the NBA
This event raised $2,000 toward the MBFF Scholarship Program which supports students pursuing trade education.
Labor of Love Giveaway Events
The first Labor of Love event was held on Labor Day 2020. The MBFF partnered with Pineville Neighbors Place, Charlotte Rescue Mission, and The Harvest Center of Charlotte to provide meals to 24 families in need – 80 people! In addition to meals, children were given inspirational books, families were provided with gift cards to purchase gas and other necessities; resources for career assistance were also offered.
WSOC personality Brittney Johnson hosted the event that included music by Harvey Cummings. 107 pantry bags were distributed to families in need and 50 gift bags to transient individuals, a total of nearly 450 adults and children.
Home for the Holidays
Style editor extraordinaire Whitley Adkins engaged Bogues Group to manage logistics, provide recommendations, and produce a virtual/in-person hybrid event in support of RunningWorks. While the goal was to raise $25k, we exceeded that and raised $26,565.51!
No one can deny that last year was challenging, but we at Bogues Group are so excited for this year.
