Did You Miss Our March Boss Camp 2021? Here’s What Happened

This year’s spring Boss Camp event looked a little different thanks to COVID-19, but we persevered with our virtual component and still managed to have some fun. Insights from women leaders, bundles of resources and fun stories were shared during our 3-week event and we can’t wait to do it again this October! We’re also excited to announce a special surprise so keep reading.

Thank you to the 160 participants from across the US, Canada and even Jamaica! Check out the map to see where all of our bosses are located and make sure to represent your state in our next October event. Everyone from Executive Directors, to COO’s, Producers and Students joined us this spring.

Did you know women make up 45% of the workplace, yet occupy 25% of the five crucial C-Suite positions? Of that 25%, only 6% are holding CEO spots and only 2% are women of color. Our semi-annual Boss Camp event is a call to action for women climbing the corporate ladder and those blazing their own path as an entrepreneur.

Participants in Boss Camp received a daily email highlighting an entrepreneur or woman in the C-Suite. Participants were also able to connect on our LinkedIn collective – if you haven’t joined check it out.

This year we’re concluding the event with a special announcement – the Bogues Group E4 Fund and pitching contest!

In partnership with the Charlotte Hornets Foundation, the Bogues Group’s E4 Fund is designed to provide grant money geared to furthering the advancement of female students in their junior or senior years of college, women in or pursuing leadership positions, women entrepreneurs and executives working to progress in their career, as well as working moms looking to find the balance between pursuing the C-Suite or managing their business and their families.

Three lucky winners will receive up to $500 in funding for further education, business development or career investment. So give us your pitch! How would you use funds to level up? Winners will be selected during a live event on Friday, April 23rd.

Many thanks to everyone who participated this year, and stay tuned for our October Boss Camp event and other opportunities in support of the C-Suite Initiative. As Joanne Ciulla said, “Leadership is not a person or a position. It is a complex moral relationship between people based on trust, obligation, commitment, emotion, and a shared vision of the good.” Stay ahead of the game with Boss Camp insights and watch out for our upcoming PR courses!
