Mecklenburg County ABC Board Announces Grantee Awards

Community Health and Wellness Grant Program selects 17 local non-profit organizations to support

CHARLOTTE – The Mecklenburg County ABC Board announced it will provide grants to 17 local non-profit organizations in the Charlotte area in support of the education, prevention, treatment and research of alcohol and substance abuse. Through the Small, Annual and Renewal Grant Programs, Meck ABC distributed a total of $788,802 to assist the citizens of Mecklenburg County and improve their quality of life.

“The Mecklenburg County ABC Board is so incredibly proud to support these organizations and their transformational missions to educate, prevent, treat and research alcohol and substance abuse within our community,” Keva Walton, CEO of the Mecklenburg County ABC Board, said. “I also want to personally thank the program evaluators who brought a wealth of knowledge, expertise and diversity to this year’s vetting process.”

Since 1947, Meck ABC has invested over $100 million into local nonprofits whose missions support alcohol and substance abuse treatment and prevention. Through its Community Health & Wellness Grant Program, Meck ABC provides grant funding to eligible non-profit organizations and state entities, supporting programs that focus on alcohol and substance abuse education, treatment, and prevention. Current community partners provide a wide array of programs and services to improve the health and well-being of county residents.
